Up for sale is a stunning, authentic piece of Continental Majolica from the renowned manufacture of Bernhard Bloch (BB), located in the famous Eichwald region. This figural tobacco jar (humidor) features a charming reclining Pug or Bulldog resting atop a deep forest green tufted cushion with ornate golden tassels.

The piece features the classic high-gloss "wet look" majolica glaze. The base is finished in a rich chocolate brown with a textured basketweave pattern.

Markings: The base is clearly impressed with the shape number 1665 and bears the characteristic rectangular Bernhard Bloch hallmark.
Condition: Excellent antique condition for its age. (Note: Mention any specific chips or glaze wear you see here). There is light age-appropriate crazing to the glaze which confirms its authenticity. The underside feet have had felt pads added to protect surfaces.
