Painted on silk, this hyper-vibrant painting
captures colors that are almost surreal!
Art (advertising art in particular) in this period
experimented with new inks and paints and these
new pigments were around for only a few years before
being replaced by new ones.
This makes this piece all the more sensational
because even today, recreating a work like
this would be impossible because the paints don't
exist anymore.
After WWII many soldiers that served in the Pacific became
enamored by Asia and the contrasts with the US.
This often manifested as "Tiki" art or Asian themed
