After installing this valve body, the transmission must complete an adaptive relearn procedure using FORScan -- a Ford-specific diagnostic software tool. This clears stored adaptive shift data so the TCM can relearn proper shift pressures and timing with the new valve body.
What you need: A Windows laptop, a compatible OBD2 adapter (ELM327 or OBDLink recommended), and the free FORScan software. The relearn procedure is straightforward and well-documented within FORScan's Ford-specific service functions. Professional installation is recommended.
