This is an original vintage silver gelatin photograph of the American operatic soprano Leonora Corona (1900–1950). The photograph measures 192mm x 235mm.

In this stunning 1933 portrait, Corona is seen in costume as the title character in the opera "Thais." The photograph features a large and affectionate inscription in white ink: "To Pearl Besuner with love and appreciation. Leonora Corona as 'Thais' 1933"

The signature and inscription are bold and highly decorative. The recipient, Pearl Besuner, was a notable Metropolitan Opera soprano, making this a premiere association item between two contemporary stars of the Met during the 1930s.

The photograph is in good vintage condition. There is a horizontal crease across the center of the image, and a small closed tear is visible at the bottom edge. Despite these signs of age, the image of Corona remains sharp, and the white ink inscription is exceptionally vibrant and legible against the dark background.
