The map is a raised relief model providing a detailed view of the moon’s surface, including mountain heights, sea floors, and place names. The relief is also depicted by shading, enhancing the three-dimensional effect.
The map is based on photographs taken by U.S. moon probes and was part of the Topographic Lunar Map of the Army Map Service.
It includes a gazetteer, offering a comprehensive list of lunar features with their names and possibly associated coordinates or details.
