OVERVIEW

The Sumitomo HTR Enhance LX2 is a touring, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. This model also has some high performance, W speed-rated sizes. Sumitomo offers a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty with the W speed-rated models, a 75,000 mile treadwear warranty with the H and V speed-rated models, and a 90,000 mile treadwear warranty with the T speed-rated models.

The asymmetric tread design works together with the silica compound to boost the all weather traction. They enhance the tire's grip on the dry, wet, and winter-weather road surfaces. The detailed siping pattern of the asymmetric ribbed pattern enhances the number of biting edges gripping the road surface, with additional biting edges, while the compound's silica elements secure the rubber flexibility in versatile temperatures. The circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the footprint, maintaining the surface contact and further improving the wet and slushy surface traction.

The model's optimal surface contact patch improves the length of the tread life. The ideal surface contact of the ribbed pattern enables the tire to evenly distribute the driving pressure along the tread area. The equally spread-out forces of acceleration, cornering, and braking avoid irregular wear formations across the tread area. The silica compound, on the other hand, manages to minimize the tread wear rate. The silica in the compound reinforces the tire against the tread wear, which enables the tire's longer-lasting usability and service life.

The asymmetric tread design enables the tire to improve controllability on various terrain surface conditions. The tread design's close road contact improves steering responsiveness and driving stability throughout the tire's performance. The better traction and surface contact boost the steering's response time and accuracy to the driver's commands, while the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting the model. The outer shoulder tread block placement enhances the cornering and maneuvering ability. These blocks increase the number of biting edges gripping the road surface during maneuvering, which ensures the model's safer performance.

The HTR Enhance LX2 ensures a quiet and comfortable driving experience. The tread design's special outer shoulder tread block placement helps lower the road and tread pattern noise heard in the vehicle's cabin. It prevents airwaves from entering the footprint while the tires are in motion, avoiding their contact with the tread elements. In this manner, the tire prevents the formation of sound waves, which minimizes the road noise levels heard in the vehicle's cabin by the passengers. As road disturbances are unable to ruin the passengers' driving enjoyment, the tire guarantees a comfortable drive.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
