One (1) 1968 brilliant uncirculated (BU) large Irish penny featuring an obverse design with a hen and chicks and a reverse design of the Irish harp, a national symbol of Ireland. This design, based on the Brian Ború Harp housed in Trinity College Dublin, was created by English artist Percy Metcalfe. The harp is surrounded by inscriptions that changed over time: initially "Saorstát Éireann" (Irish Free State) from 1928 to 1937, later replaced by "Éire" (Ireland in Irish) from 1938 onward.
