An original antique oil painting, 51 years old (painted in 1975). The name of the painting is VASILISA. The artist is Ilarion Fusa (1925-1999).

The painting is painted in the BOYCHUKISM genre. The founder of this type of painting was the famous Ukrainian monumental artist Mykhailo Boychuk (1882-1937). The genre originated in the 1910-1930s and was a mixture of BYZANTINE and ITALIAN FRESCOES and NAIVE ART.

The painting was painted on an OLD MAGAZINE SHEET (letters and illustrations are still visible), making the work even more unique. (In the 1970s, art supplies were difficult to access for ordinary artists, so they used whatever was at hand.)

The work was created with the addition of CASEIN TEMPERA. Casein tempera is an ancient type of paint made using casein (a protein derived from milk) and linseed oil. Paintings made from this material are very durable and strong (for example, frescoes in old churches).

Size framed: 27cm х 22cm or 10.6 x 8.7 inches.

The painting is framed in a CHESTNUT color frame with gold elements, ready for use in the interior.
