Description: A nice large and heavy bronze medal from 1959. This is the Society of Medalists 59th issue medal. The medal has the image of an Apache on horseback drawing bow and arrow on running buffalos with hills in the background on the obverse with the legend "APACHE BUFFALO HUNT" above the image. The reverse has the image of a masked male dancer with headdress, wooden swords, and cloth streamers with the legend "APACHE FIRE DANCER" above it. There is also the notation (c) HOUSER near the bottom to the right of the dancer's foot. The medal has a nice red-golden bronze finish with some light tan coloring. The medal comes in the original issue box with and descriptive booklet describing the medal. A great looking and very interesting medal to add to your collection. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
