Made by Park-Sherman of New Jersey, 42 years ago, when a First Class postage stamp cost .18 cents as opposed to 66 cents!
The mostly metal construction is sturdily made (of course, USA-made) and is spring activated for weights up to one pound. It's hilarious to see all of the "Zone Rates" and incremental charges that applied in 1981. None of them are the same anymore.
But...the scale still works precisely to measure ANYTHING up to one pound. Plus, if you turn the calibration dial you can be sure that your measurement starts out at true zero.
This is all-mechanical, so keep that in mind when comparing readings from a high-tech digital scale. Even so, we know you'll be surprised at how accurate the scale is! Thanks for looking, and why not take a look at our other unusual vintage stuff!
