Buddhist Virtues and How to Ask for Blessings

Sacredness: The name "Samret Saksit" means that wishes made will be fulfilled (one wish per person).

Areas of Blessings: Popular requests include success in business, career, wealth, luck, health, and love.

Brief History: The statue was discovered during excavation along the Raphiphat Canal (Saraburi Province) in 1959. A miraculous event occurred when lightning struck the statue during road construction in 1962.

Luang Por Samret

Luang Pho Samret Saksit is an ancient Buddha statue that was accidentally discovered in 1959 in Nong Taloo Village, Saraburi Province. Villagers found the statue buried underground while digging along the Raphiphat Canal. A shrine was built and the statue was enshrined at the location where it was found. The statue's sacredness has attracted many people to worship and ask for blessings. It is believed that if a wish is granted, offerings will be brought as a way of fulfilling a vow.

Brief History

Discovery: Accidentally discovered on December 12, 1959, in Nong Taloo Village, Saraburi Province.

Original Location: Originally buried underground on the right bank of the Raphiphat Canal.

Event:

It is said that during the Ayutthaya period, a group of forest soldiers set up a camp to capture wild elephants, and one of the soldiers lost his amulet. Later, villagers found the clay Buddha statue in the area.

When the Raphiphat Canal was being dug during the reign of King Rama V, workers used soil to fill in the embankment, causing the statue to crack open.

Installation: Villagers helped to enshrine the Buddha image on the ground at the location where it was discovered and built a shrine for worship.

Belief: People believe in the sacredness of Luang Pho, especially his ability to grant wishes as his name suggests, leading many people to travel to the shrine to pray and fulfill vows.
