A very large and impressive formal portrait of King George V, released in 1911 to commemorate his coronation year. The King is shown in full military uniform, projecting both authority and dignity in this striking clear image.

Measuring 18 inches by 13.5 inches under glass, the portrait is housed in its original solid wood frame with period wood backing, bringing the overall dimensions to 25.5 inches by 19.5 inches and 1 inch deep. Good antique condition, some staining to the matte and spotting to the inside of the glass. Retains original wood backing. Please review the photos for further condition assessment.

Due to its imposing size and presentation, it was likely produced for official display in a government building, institution, or office within the British Empire, underscoring its historical significance. The frame, with its original finish and age-appropriate patina, enhances the authenticity and presence of the piece.

This is not only a fascinating relic of royal history but also a compelling decorative display item—ideal for collectors of British monarchy memorabilia, enthusiasts of early 20th-century history, or anyone seeking a bold statement piece with regal character.
