This special edition, featuring a number of priceless studio recordings, is based on the limited European release of the "50th Anniversary Collection" in December 2020. "1970" primarily features previously unreleased outtakes from the sessions for "Self-Portrait" and "New Dawn," both originally released in 1970. The nine tracks recorded with George Harrison on May 1, 1970, feature a wide variety of appealing songs, arranged in chronological order by recording date, including Dylan originals ("One More Morning," "Gate of Eden," and "Mama, You Been on My Mind") and covers (The Beatles' "Yesterday," The Everly Brothers' "Just Dreaming," and Carl Perkins' "Matchbox").
