RARE 1969 Major League Baseball Player Pin Ernie Banks Chicago Cubs 2.5" Variation

Black-and-white or color player portraits (noted parenthetically) are featured in the center of a red, white and blue design on these 3-1/2" diameter pins. Rarer 2-1/2" diameter pins were also produced in much smaller quantities and command much higher prices. The existing checklist, which may be incomplete, shows a mix of contemporary and retired players. The celluloid pinback buttons were sold at concession stands around the Major Leagues. Production continued at least into 1970, based on some observed player/team combinations.
