Introduction

Eupatorium odoratum, commonly known as "Jack in the Bush," "Chromolaena odorata," or "Siam weed," is a plant found in tropical and subtropical regions. It's important to note that the use of this plant, particularly its leaves, can vary based on cultural practices and traditional medicine.

Erect or sprawling shrub; stems 1-1.25 m tall, terete, pubescent. Leaf lamina 5-10 x 3-6 cm; petioles up to 6 cm long. Capitula cylindrical-campanulate, 3 mm diameter, in dense terminal corymbose about 10 cm across. Involucre 4-5 seriate, about 1 mm long, phyllaries whitish. Flowers 20-35 per capitula, pale bluish-mauve, rarely white, fragrant. Achenes 4 mm long, blackish with 4-5 pale scabrid ribs. Pappus whitish or pale brown, 5 mm long.
