For nearly 25 years, our family has been deeply committed to Operation Christmas Child, a global ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. This initiative is the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, dedicated to demonstrating God’s love in a tangible way to children in need worldwide. By delivering shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items, the ministry partners with local churches worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and provide children with a "Greatest Gift" Gospel booklet. Since 1993, this mission has reached more than 244 million children across more than 170 countries and territories.

In an effort to multiply our impact, we opened Mountain Book Nook with a singular goal: to raise the funds needed to send even more shoeboxes to children who may never have received a gift before. Thanks to the incredible support of our customers, we are humbled to share that in 2025, we were able to send 60 shoeboxes to children around the world.

Through our store, we have gained access to wholesale sources that allow us to purchase high-quality items in bulk. To support the entire OCC community, we are making these "treasures" available to other shoebox packers at actual cost (the item cost plus eBay listing fees). Our hope is to assist those who may not be able to purchase in bulk, ensuring we can all work together to reach as many children as possible.
