This listing was previously owned and used, in original box. This listing is for the Vintage Old Maid Card Game E.E. Fairchild Rochester NY Mid Century 36 Card Set, catalog No. 428.  From what I have read this edition was produced in the 1950s–early 1960s, based on the artwork style, printed 19¢ price, and Fairchild’s mid‑century product line. This set includes 36 cards total: 17 matched pairs (34 cards), 1 Old Maid card, 1 original instruction card. All cards feature colorful mid‑century illustrations of nursery rhyme and folk‑tale characters. Due to 24‑photo limit, I combined some cards in the same close‑up image. The light creases on certain cards are very difficult to photograph, even under magnification, so I included printed captions and arrows in the photos to indicate where most of them can be felt. All creases I found were identified by touch, and the cards are not bent, they lay flat, and it’s possible they may not be visible in the photos. I tried to use the Old Maid & Hey, Diddle Diddle in a close-up photo together to give you an idea of what I found, you may have to zoom in to see them. I read these light tactile creases are typical of mid‑century Fairchild cardstock and do not always show clearly in photos, even under magnification. I photographed what I was able to detect by touch, they may not be visible in the photos. This listing was previously owned and used in original box with one corner on the bottom half missing part of the original paper tape the keeps it together. There are some signs of normal wear from use. No marks from writing utensils and no tears or rips. Just the creases I was able to detect by touch and the cards are not bent they lay flat. No creases felt on 7 matched sets and instruction card, but the instruction card has a place on the "I" of the Fairchild name between the "H & L". Creases found on one card of 4 matched sets marked between the arrows in photos and the Old Maid card. And creases found on both cards of 6 matched sets. It's possible some creases could have been missed. This Old Maid Card Game will still make a good display for collector of Old Cards.
