This is the rare, oversized 80-ounce (2.5 Quart) version of the Fostoria American #2056 water pitcher, considered the gold standard of the 3D cube pattern. This massive vessel holds more than a half-gallon, standing 9 inches tall. At nearly 6 pounds, it has a substantial, premium feel that imitations cannot match.

Unlike lighter, mass-produced cubist versions, this piece is crafted from Elegant Glass, which was hand-finished to achieve its signature clarity and incredible weight. It was fire-polished during production, giving it a brilliant luster that sets it apart from smaller or mass-produced imitations. Some cubes show original fire-polished smoothness, while others retain their crisp mold edges, characteristic of authentic mid-century Fostoria production.

It features the original straight-edge rim and the distinctive flat-bottom ice lip design favored by collectors.

Excellent Vintage Condition. Clear glass with no clouding or major cracks. Rim and ice lip are smooth with no chips. The lower handle attachment point has an uneven, less-smooth texture—this appears to be a manufacturing characteristic but could be a small, smoothed-over chip (see photo). There is a tiny imperfection/chip on the exterior of the handle that's difficult to see but can be felt with a fingertip. As is common with heavy vintage pressed glass, there may be minuscule flea bites, straw marks, or light shelf wear consistent with age and use.
