This is a stunning original antique (mid-late 19th century) arched top wall mirror that is tall enough to use as a hall, dressing, or pier mirror. The frame is solid walnut with a gold gilt layer on the inside around the mirror glass. The mirror glass appears to be original.
Condition is excellent. The frame is solid and all joints are tight. There is little wear to the original finish. The gold gilt layer has some surface cracks (typical for age) and one shallow chip on the lower right corner. Some of the gold is worn away along the inner edge as well and the gold has acquired an aged patina overall. The mirror glass does not have any damage but the silver shows some aging including one coudy streak with some black crazing in the center (shown in the photos) reflections are otherwise crisp throughout. Part of the wood back panel is intact but some of it is missing and there is a thick cardboard insert to protect the glass. There is an old hanging wire attached that should be tested for strength before use.
Outer dimensions of the mirror are 27" W x 43" H and 2" thick. It will be packed securely, double boxed, and
