Early Japanese bisque doll marked “Japan”, measuring approximately 6 inches tall. This doll features painted stationary eyes, molded and painted red/auburn hair, and hand-painted facial details. This doll was found in a VERY old chest and is in really good condition for its age. It appears to be early 20th century (1910-1920).

The doll was manufactured without arms, which is typical for early Japanese export bisque dolls of this size and era. These small dolls were often sold as inexpensive novelties, display pieces, or intended to be dressed.

Condition reflects age and use, including paint loss to hair, surface wear, discoloration, and staining consistent with early bisque dolls. No major cracks, chips or repairs observed. Marking on back reads “Japan” (see photos).
