Selling a vintage girls Best & Company 100% wool coat from the mid 1970s. This was my coat from when I was a child. Purchased by my grandma in NYC.
Fully lined (including the sleeves); velvet belt, collar and pockets. Gold tone buttons. Red wool plaid with brown accents
The size tag has been cut out. ***Please refer to the measurements in the photos and the item details to make sure it will fit your kiddo*** A 32-inch chest in girls' clothing generally corresponds to size Large (10-12 or 12-14) or roughly an 11-year-old age range.
In excellent condition. One snag on the sleeve (see photo). No moth holes or really any signs of wear. As a kid, I barely wore the coat according to my mom : )
My grandma loved to go in to Manhattan from Staten Island, shop the clearance sales then send us a box of all her bargains. Best & Company was founded by Albert Best in 1879. The main store was in Manhattan with branches in cities throughout the east. Their children’s shop, the Lilliputian Bazaar, was the place to buy children’s clothes.
