Description
This is a Lionel 6-8406 O New York Central Die-Cast Hudson 4-6-4 Steam Locomotive and Tender #783 from 1984. This was the first modern era reissue of the famous Scale Hudson and is very similar to the 1964 version of the Postwar Era 773. It features a die-cast boiler, an open frame motor, Magnetraction, an operating smoke unit with smoke puffing from steam chest, and an operating headlight, and an electronic whistle and Sound of Steam. The tender has 6-wheel trucks and also features a die-cast shell and is the same style as the postwar 2426.
Known as the Baltic in Europe and the Hudson in North America, the 4-6-4 was introduced in the early 20th century finding success in hauling freight and as a shunting model. Their use would initially find great success on North American railways before eventually becoming mainstays in rail-yards around the world.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent. These items show some scratches and spots of paint loss on the shell and chassis. These items are in excellent overall condition, free of broken trim pieces. These items show some signs of light previous use. The instruction manual is not included. The original boxes are not included. Please check the photos for a detailed look at these items. Overall condition is Excellent.
