You can see how small they are - both of these fit together onto the surface of a penny

Material: These beads are typically made from fine silver, which is often 98% to 99.9% pure, as opposed to the lower-purity sterling silver (92.5%).

Origin: They are handmade by the Karen people and other semi-nomadic Hill Tribes living in the highlands of Thailand, who have an ancient tradition of silversmithing.

Design: The beads are known for their intricate, folded designs that resemble origami

shaped like boxes

Usage: They are commonly used in jewelry making for bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. 

These are not fragile

To give you an idea of the construction strength - a penny weighs about 2.5 grams.  these weigh 2.1g combined. Look at the thickness and surface area of the penny - then you'll understand that these small boxes are made from nice thick sine silver, folded into a box shape! I can carry them in my pocket without fear of damaging them.

These are older workmanship, not new - a souvenir of a visit to Thailand from days gone by.
