Vintage Polish Hand-Woven Wool Kilim – Mid-Century Modern Tapestry.
Up for sale is a beautiful, large-scale vintage Polish textile, likely produced by the Cepelia cooperative during the 1960s or 70s.
This piece features a striking geometric "hourglass" pattern created through traditional warp-grouping techniques, giving it a unique 3D architectural texture.
Unlike many heavier rugs, this piece is medium-weight with a supple drape, making it ideal for wall display or use as a decorative screen.
The colorway is a sophisticated, high-contrast natural dark brown (espresso) and cream—highly sought after for "Warm Minimalist" or "Brutalist" interiors.
Key Features:
• Unique Hardware: Features pairs of metal rings spaced vertically down the reverse. This rare setup allows for versatile mounting, either flat against a wall or as a sliding/folding decorative panel.
• Materials: Natural undyed wool and linen/flax foundation.
• Dimensions: Approximately 66" (L) x 30" (W).
Condition: Excellent Vintage Condition.
The weave is tight and structurally sound with no major pulls, holes, or staining. The fibers are clean and free of heavy odors. All original metal mounting rings are present and securely attached to the reverse. This piece has been well-preserved and is ready for display.
