1 Gang Socket & Light Switch Spacer - 10mm, 15mm and 20mm
When new tiles, panelling, wallpaper or a splashback leave a single light switch or socket sitting below the surface, this back box extender lifts the faceplate clear of the wall so it sits flush again. No chasing out, and no back box replacement in most installs.
Which depth do I need?
Measure how far the new wall surface stands proud of the back box, then match it:
- 10mm - one layer of tiles, or thick wallpaper
- 15mm - tile-on-adhesive, or shiplap
- 20mm - acoustic slat panels, MDF and deep cladding
Fits every standard UK 1 gang plate
- 86 x 86mm footprint, 5mm radius corners
- Two fixing holes at standard UK centres
- Suits light switches, dimmers, single sockets and fused spurs
- Works with metal and dry-lining (plasterboard) back boxes
- Compatible with smart switches and USB faceplates
Fitting takes minutes
- Isolate the power at the consumer unit.
- Unscrew the faceplate and ease it forward.
- Sit the spacer between the back box and the faceplate.
- Refit using longer M3.5 screws.
No rewiring is required. For your safety we recommend installation by a qualified electrician.
