This is a small U.S. American Legion lapel pin in goldplate with dark blue enamel.  It is marked on the reverse: "PAT. DE. 54296" long with a small hallmark figure. Minor finish loss on the outside rim.  No damage to the enamel. Reverse is clean with no sign of corrosion. There is a screw on brass metal backing that holds the pin securely.
