This product is a lot of four softcover books titled "Little Journeys To The Homes Of Eminent Artists” published in 1902 and 1903 by the Roycrofters community press and written by Elbert Hubbard. The books focus on great people and were published by The Roycrofters in East Aurora , New York, United States.

Included are Jean Paul Marat, Wendell Phillips, Martin Luther and Edmund Burke.

The collection offers a glimpse into the homes and lives of notable individuals, providing readers with a unique perspective on famous personalities from the past. Perfect for collectors of antiquarian and collectible books, these little journeys offer a fascinating insight into the lives of significant individuals.

These handcrafted books are the early printings that would later become the larger book series , published by other printers. These were made at the Roycrofters studio and mailed to subscribers on a monthly basis.

Condition is good for their age, some water damage shown in photos,

I took photos in a couple of the books to show content type and general layout and condition, the other books roughly follow the same pattern.

There is generally some water damage, especially the Martin Luther book, especially along the outer edge… plus normal and light shelf wear,

Many of the pages have not been cut, indicating that they were not read …. Some books are entirely trimmed though .

All four show great skill in crafting them , well made . The portrait prints are on separate, detached glossy paper, I’m not sure where they were printed as I don’t think the workshop there had the in-house ability to print them, at least not in 1902.

There are printed in the books illustrations of some of the furniture that they made
