Here is a rather clean example of the O gauge 898 all black stamped steel windup train engine pulling a consist of 6 inch tin freight cars. These durable workhorse engines are wonderful, and this one is complete, and as you can see and hear in the short bench test video, the windup engine works and the sparker mechanism also functions, although it could do with a good cleaning and lubrication. The original windup key is NOT included, but they are a readily availble reproduction part. The cars are all 6 inch tin with 4 stamped metal wheels on metal axles, and riveted tab and slot couplers. All of the cars are on the regular six inch square black bases which Marx used for many years. There is a wedge type New York Central tender in black with white lettering, a 86000 Lackawanna iridescent blue hopper with red interior and red lettering, a 553 silver Union Tank Lines (UTLX) tankcar with red lettering and black details, and a 556 NYC red caboose with black details and white lettering. Anyway, this set shows signs of playwear and some scratching but is very presentable. The engine and tender are the best of the lot, showing only light playwear. Wouldn't this great Marx set look fantastic on YOUR wall, or running around the layout? Photos show all pieces from all 6 sides, with a yardstick in the shots for size reference, plus that test video. Priced fairly, with only actual shipping cost on the 3 1/4 pound package charged (I give you 4 shipping options, so you can choose what is best for YOU).
