The Grand Seiko 61GS is a pinnacle brand born in 1960 with a commitment to creating the world's finest wristwatches. While honoring the traditional Seiko style, it continues to pursue the essence of timepieces and evolve. This model features the 10-beat (high-beat) automatic movement Cal. 6146A, and is an extremely rare model known as the "Arabesque Dial." This is due to the unusual gold arabesque pattern printed around the GS mark at 6 o'clock, which is why it is also known in English as "Arabesque." The 61GS comes in three models: the standard model, the 61GS Special, which meets even stricter accuracy standards, and the V.F.A. model, which strives for the ultimate in mechanical wristwatch accuracy with a monthly deviation of less than ±1 minute. This arabesque dial, which sits somewhere between the standard model and the GS Special, is a test-marketed model. Produced for only one year, from 1969 to 1970, it's considered even rarer than the V.F.A. It comes with an aftermarket black leather strap.
