Set of 12 vintage hair barrettes made of bakelite (Catalin-type phenolic resin), dating from the 1930s–1940s.
Beautiful tortoiseshell-style translucent brown/red color with deep internal marbling, typical of high-quality Catalin bakelite.
These barrettes come from old store stock (NOS) and were never worn.
They originate from an original period stock package, still preserved, with a handwritten label mentioning “Barrettes écaille ”.
The barrettes themselves are not individually marked.
Each barrette measures approximately 5 cm (2 inches) long and 0.8 cm (0.3 inch) wide.
All metal clips are original and functional.
