The Sumitomo Encounter AT2 is an all terrain, all weather tire made for light trucks and SUVs. This model has some commercial van sizes available as well. Sumitomo offers a 65,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model.

Reinforced manufacturing elements greatly enhance durability and damage resistance. The tire features a reinforced construction, which helps maintain the ideal tire shape under load and driving pressure. This increases its overall load-handling ability. The tire helps carry and withstand large loads with ease. On the other hand, the strengthened structure and the rubber compound protect the tire from damage to its casing. This allows the tire to avoid external and off-road damage while the tires are in motion. These elements avoid punctures, cuts, and impact damage from harming the casing. As a result, it guarantees a safer off-road performance.

Excellent controllability is promoted with this tire. The aggressive tread block placement manages to increase its surface contact. The tire manages to boost its steering responsiveness and driving stability, both on- and off-road. It promotes faster and more precise steering responses, while the structure is secured against driving pressure. The model offers great cornering and maneuvering as well. Cornering and braking are upgraded with the ideal tread elements, guaranteeing the driver’s control over the vehicle at all times.

The Sumitomo Encounter AT2 upgrades the on-road comfort levels. The tread design utilizes variable tread elements to lower the road and tread noise heard by the passengers. The sound frequency generated during the on-road drive helps the tire prevent sound waves from reaching the vehicle’s cabin. This results in a quiet and comfortable driving experience.

All weather tires receive the three mountain peak and snowflake (3PMS) symbol for their exceptional winter weather performance. They are all season tires with extra winter weather grip, in order to guarantee safer year-round durability. This ensures their true and secure driving ability throughout the year.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
