This is a vintage Dansk Designs staved teak ice bucket, also known as the "Congo" ice bucket, designed by Jens H. Quistgaard. The design is a classic example of Scandinavian Modern style from the mid-20th century and features an integrated handle. Measures 10" in diameter and is 8" tall. Weighs 5 lbs, 1.8 oz. The plastic tongs have been inside the bucket for years, but I don't know if they were included with the ice bucket originally. Stamped "Dansk International Designs Ltd. Genuine Teak Thailand" on the base.

The piece is a classic example of mid-century modern Scandinavian design and has been featured in museum exhibitions, including one at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The ice bucket was crafted using a coopering method to form the solid teak wood and includes an interior black plastic liner. The plastic liner is in very good condition and not cracked. It has only light, minor scratches on the bottom. The plastic does not have an odor. The item is from a smoke-free home.

Please see photos for condition. I took close-ups of any variations in the wood. The teak joints are solid.
