Tested on a strand of incandescent lights, and the ornament works as intended. When you pull out the button on the base, the tree inside the dome lights up with red lights and the animals spin around the tree on a merry-go-round or carousel playground ride. One of the animals has a banner reading "Merry Christmas 1994."   

I purchased the ornament new and have stored it in a smoke-free, climate controlled home. The ornament is in excellent condition. The plastic dome is shiny and clear. I looked very closely and saw two small scratches on the back side of ornament. They didn't show up in the photos and are minor. The red and white base is in great condition. 

The box has wear on the corners and has yellowed a little on the inside. The tabs you fasten on the inside are torn (see last photo). Thanks for your interest!
