Good bits
General condition: Light signs of use but generally good condition
Lens: The lens is clean and clear of scratches or marks
Preview screen: Light surface scratches from general use but don’t really show when powered on.
Power zoom: Works great throughout the entire focal range.
Autofocus: Works as expected.
Dials & buttons: All working and responsive with no paint loss.
Flash: Working as expected.
Battery compartment: Clean and clear.
Grip: The outer layer of the handgrip has deteriorated.
Doors & covers: All in place and secure.
Observations/Comments
The battery included with this item has been charged on my universal charger. However, it has not been tested for how long it holds charge.
The camera does not come with a charger. If you search for “Panasonic CGR-D08R battery charger”, you should find them available for around £7-10.
Not so good bits
During testing, the device asked to be reset a couple of times when fast forwarding through a video tape. This is the reason for being sold as "for parts or not working".
