The wind howled a grim tune through the ancient, crumbling bell tower, making the massive bronze bell above sway precariously. A tiny, terrified Skitty was perched on a narrow ledge near the top, unable to jump and too scared to move.
Down below, Tierno, the experienced Pokémon coordinator, gathered his team. "We can't fly up; the wind is too strong. We have to climb and stabilize the bell from the inside," he instructed.
The Climbing Team
Infernape, the natural leader of the ascent, used its speed and fire-cloaked limbs to scale the stone faster than anyone. Closely behind was Galarian Linoone, whose zigzagging movements and powerful Double-Edge allowed it to find secure footing even on the steepest sections.
Midway up, they hit a snag: a section of the wall had crumbled, leaving a wide gap. This required an agile bridge.
The Bridge and The Ground Crew
Charmander and the two Charmeleon stepped up. The trio of Fire-types used their combined Flamethrower attacks, not against the wall, but angled expertly at pieces of loose debris, heating and fusing them together into temporary, rigid steps spanning the gap. They risked serious vertigo, but their focus on the target was absolute.
On the ground, Mankey, fueled by nervous energy, used its small size and Scratch attack to clear small, sharp stones from the base of the tower, ensuring nothing could fall and injure the team below.
The Anchor and The Tool
When Infernape and Linoone finally reached the bell chamber, the massive bell was swinging violently. They needed an anchor. Stunfisk, despite its flat shape, was a heavy Electric-type. It was thrown up to the chamber, where its natural weight and low center of gravity acted as a counterweight to help steady the rope Infernape was securing.
The final piece was the strategy. Tierno remembered an old trick and used the Memory Capsule—a device that grants a Pokémon access to moves it had previously forgotten. He tossed it up to Infernape, who used it to briefly recall a long-forgotten move: Telekinesis. This move didn't help with the rescue itself, but it allowed Infernape to gently levitate the frightened Skitty directly onto his back, avoiding the dangerous jump.
With Skitty safely clinging on, Infernape used the ropes secured by Stunfisk to rappel down the newly secured route. All nine Pokémon—from the furious Mankey to the calm Infernape—had played a critical role in the successful, dizzying rescue.
