This is my son at fourteen, playing his electric guitar in my studio and behind him is all the music I have collected since I was his age. He may or may not find influence there. On the left side of the picture are modern day CDs, below them the tapes and behind him are seven crates of albums.

Behind him stands previous generations, musical history and the changes in technology. With the whole world in front of him, the future choices will be his to make. It's my hope that someday he too will be able to look back and thank this kid in the painting for choosing wisely.
