**This is a full grain leather tote bag made entirely by hand by my husband in his leather workshop inside our home, complete with his Flintlox brand stamp right on the front.
This handcrafted tote bag is made of Horween English Tan Derby leather, with Horween English Tan Dublin leather handles. The Dimensions are approximately 11" wide at the base x 10.5" tall x 5" deep. The bag features an external 6" x5" pocket, an internal 8" x 4.5" pocket, and an internal keychain clasp.
The handles are made of belt weight Horween English Tan Dublin leather, rolled and stitched over a leather cord core, secured with hand-hammered copper rivets. Handle drop is about 9".
The top edge is wrapped and stitched, all exposed edges are beveled and burnished for a comfortable feel, and the bag is entirely hand saddle-stitched with Ritza Tiger thread for durability.
Horween is among the most famous tanneries in the United States. Their Derby and Dublin leathers are Vegetable tanned and have remarkable pull-up effect, and the English Tan color is a light tan which patinas beautifully.
What's the difference between full-grain, top grain, and
genuine leather?
Full-grain leather is the gold standard for durability. Unlike genuine
leather, which is often sanded down and coated to mask imperfections,
full-grain leather retains every natural fiber, making it stronger, more
breathable, and resistant to cracking or peeling.
Full Grain is from the outer hide layer, Top Grain is sanded, and Genuine
is the lowest quality, cut from any layer.
