PROGRAMMING REQUIREMENTS:

The manufacturer’s programming instructions for your vehicle make model and year specify diagnostic programming required.

Your vehicle’s RKE (remote keyless entry) System requires programming by your local auto locksmith. The procedure can be done with a scan tool /diagnostic equipment & takes a few minutes to complete. We suggest a local Automotive locksmith. You may want to call ahead to get a price quote and to ensure they have the proper equipment to pair your particular vehicle’s RKE system to your remote.

You will need;

1.    the remote and

2.    the vehicle you will be syncing the remote to

.  (BEWARE: if you choose to take the remote to your local DEALER: many dealers will charge for 1 hour of labor to do this & often times they will tell you that it will not work so that you will have to purchase a remote from them at 2-3 times the cost)

Programming Instructions:

1. Access programming connector in LH side of trunk (passenger side) you may need to pull back some trim to find or access it. Connector will not be connected to anything and should be one black/white wire that ends with a black connector. It will have a single hole in it or a port.

Be sure you are making contact with the metal inside the port and touch the other end of the jumper wire to a nearby bolt or unpainted metal surface on the body of the vehicle.

3. The system should now lock and unlock doors to indicate successful entry into programming mode.

1993 Cadillac Seville

LEASE NOTE: When you begin the programming sequence to sync your remote to your installed remote keyless entry (RKE) system, you MUST HAVE ALL OF YOUR REMOTES (Including PREVIOUSLY PROGRAMMED remote(s)) to be programmed with you at the time of programming…

ALL PREVIOUSLY PROGRAMMED REMOTES WILL BE ERASED AT THIS TIME.

(This is a safety feature that prevents anyone else from accessing your vehicle.)

Note: Before starting this procedure, BOTH transmitters must be present.

Reprogramming Transmitter

1. Turn the Ignition Switch to OFF.
2. Jumper Assembly Line Diagnostic Link Connector (a.k.a. "ALDL connector" - located behind the center instrument panel, below ashtray) terminal G (PPL/WHT) to terminal A (BLK/WHT). Door locks lock and unlock, and trunk release activates in approximately 2 seconds.

After the procedure, check to see if both transmitters operate the door locks. Repeat the programming procedure or replace transmitters as necessary.

2.Locate the Programming Connector (See item 2 in Figure 4) at the back end of the trunk base (not the trunk lid) above the rear bumper. You may have to pull back the trim to access the connector. It is a plastic connector with one wire leading up to it that is NOT plugged into anything.

3. The connector should have one terminal. Ground this terminal to a suitable location (bolt, antenna, etc.) and keep it grounded until completion of the programming sequence. Within 2 seconds of grounding the programming connector, the door locks will automatically cycle (lock then unlock) to indicate entry into programming mode.
