🌟 DESCRIPTION

This is the Official Sweater for the 2025 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships held in Trondheim, Norway. A timeless piece of Norwegian heritage, this sweater offers a distinct retro touch by blending fresh colors—Navy, Off-white, and Sandmel—with a classic, meaningful design.

The pattern is directly inspired by the championship’s values of diversity and inclusion, while also drawing motifs from Trondheim’s historical and cultural landmarks. When you wear this, you are wearing a piece of Winter sports history.

 Key Features

Design Rich in Symbolism The traditional knit is packed with exciting details from old and recent history:

  • Centered Motif: The classic eight-petal Norwegian rose is featured prominently on the front.
  • Trondheim Landmarks: Motifs include a ship symbolizing the city's maritime heritage, a stylized stained glass window from the Nidaros Cathedral, and an abstract version of the city's coat of arms.
  • Diversity & Inclusion: The World Championship logo, which inspired the motifs, was based on children’s drawings. The back of the sweater features childlike figures (boy and girl, boy and boy, girl and girl) holding hands to symbolize unity and social commitment.
  • Protection Symbol: The sleeves feature the Valknut, an ancient symbol historically used for protection against evil forces.

Crafted for Comfort and Durability

  • Premium Wool: Knitted from 100% long-lasting wool known for its durability and exceptional warmth, making it ideal as a mid-layer.
  • Ethically Produced: Designed and knitted in Norway. Dale of Norway follows an exemplary eco-conscious approach, sustainably producing garments using exclusively renewable hydroelectric energy.
  • Easy Care: This high-quality wool is naturally antibacterial and odor-resistant. It is also machine washable on a wool program, thanks to unique finishing treatments.

Style & Fit Notes The design features a medium-high neck with a quarter zipper (1/4 zip) for optimal comfort and easy ventilation.

Note: The official product name includes "VM," which stands for Verdensmesterskap—the Norwegian word for World Championship.

For more information about sizing, please see the section of Garment Measurements below.

SPECIFICATION

(1) Brand: Dale of Norway (Norwegian Brand)

(2) Gender: Women

(3) Size: Medium (M)

Based on the Dale of Norway Women's Size Chart, a Women's Size M corresponds to a US Women's Size 8 - 10 and is designed to fit a body chest circumference of approximately 37 inches.

Please note that fit preferences can vary; some prefer a more relaxed fit, while others opt for a snugger feel. We recommend considering your personal fit preference when making a selection.

Important Sizing Note: Please compare the actual garment measurements (in the section of Garment Measurements below) to a sweater you own to ensure the perfect fit, as sizing can vary significantly between brands.

(4) Fit: Loose Fit

(5) Style: The Official Trondheim 2025 World Championship 1/4 Zip Sweater

This is the exclusive, officially licensed 2025 Trondheim Women's Wool Sweater designed by Dale of Norway.

The term VM in the official product name (VM Trondheim) stands for Verdensmesterskap, which is the Norwegian word for World Championship.

This sweater is the official garment for the 2025 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships held in Trondheim, Norway. It is part of a special, limited-edition collection created to celebrate the event, featuring traditional Norwegian patterns and motifs specific to the host city. When you wear this sweater, you are wearing a piece of Winter sports history.

(6) Colorway: Navy, Off-white, and Sandmel

Sand Mel (or Sand Melange): This color is a blend of fibers that results in a sandy or beige hue with a mixed, heathered, or flecked look. It often uses shades of beige, off-white, and possibly light grey or brown to achieve a natural, earthy tone.

(7) Zipper: Quarter-zip (1/4 zip) pullover

(8) Knit Construction: This sweater is expertly designed and knitted in Norway, guaranteeing authentic craftsmanship and exceptional quality. It is constructed from 100% long-lasting wool (often described as medium weight sport wool) to ensure high durability and warmth. The heavy knit construction makes this a substantial, yet comfortable, garment perfect for use as a warm mid-layer.

(9) Adjustable Quarter-zip (1/4 Zip) Collar: The adjustable quarter-zip collar allows for versatile styling and temperature control. Zip it up to create a cozy turtleneck for maximum warmth, or unzip and lay it flat to cool down. For a more dynamic look, you can also partially zip it and fold the collar in different ways to create a unique, personalized fit for any condition such as raising the back of the collar while leaving the front open.

(10) Weight: 1 lb 14.8 oz. (30.8 oz.) / 873 grams

(11) Country of Origin: Made in Norway

(12) Materials: The sweater is crafted from 100% long-lasting wool known for its exceptional durability and warmth.

It is estimated that this yarn falls within the 24 to 28 micron range (Medium Wool) because of the sweater's substantial weight, which is confirmed at 1 lb 14.8 oz (873 grams) for a size Medium.

Fibers in the 30-micron range and higher are typically considered the threshold for an itchy sensation. Since this is a durable, high-quality medium-micron fiber (24 to 28 microns), it is chosen for its excellent warmth and structure. However, those with very sensitive skin may still perceive a slight prickle if worn directly against the skin. If the sweater body is worn over another layer of clothing, the wearer should not feel any itch. The wool is also mulesing-free, reflecting a commitment to animal welfare.

For Context (Wool Micron Scale)

  • Ultrafine Merino: 15-18.5 microns (often used for luxury next-to-skin garments)
  • Fine Merino: 18.5-20.5 microns (soft, next-to-skin comfort)
  • Medium Wool: 24-28 microns (ideal for outerwear, durable sweaters, and mid-layers) — see (12) above
  • Coarse Wool: 30+ microns (used for extremely durable garments such as traditional Norwegian sweaters, heavy-duty utility blankets such as military blankets, and carpets)

DETAILS

  • Naturally, Dale of Norway's wool is mulesing-free. (Fiber diameter: 27 micron)
  • Straight hemline
  • Self-bound cuffs and hem
  • A signature TRONDHEIM Dale of Norway logo patch at the left sleeve.

Adjustable Collar Height: 2.25 inches / 5.7 cm (can be worn up or folded down)

Shoulder Width: 23 inches / 58.4 cm (straight line, shoulder to shoulder seam) Note: Please see Sleeve Length measurement for important details about the fit/drop shoulder design.

Sleeve Length: 21 inches / 53.3 cm (straight line, from shoulder seam to cuff) Note: This sweater features a wider-than-regular M shoulder width (known as a "drop shoulder" design). Consequently, the sleeve length measurement is shorter than usual from the shoulder seam to ensure the cuff sits correctly on the wrist after the shoulder naturally drops.

Total Sweep (Laid Flat): 35 inches / 89 cm (Twice the Bottom Hem Width)

How to Make Your Sweater Last a Lifetime

A key factor in taking proper care of your wool garment is to wash it correctly. And equally important: Since wool garments can be refreshed simply by hanging in fresh air, they require less washing than other garments. Fewer washing cycles provides for a longer lifespan for your garment.
