Stunning antique vue d’optique engraving titled “Rotterdam van de Maas te zien / Rotterdam vue du coté de la Meuse” by Georg Balthasar Probst (1732–1801), a renowned printmaker and publisher from Augsburg, Germany.

• Paper: Laid rag paper with visible chain lines (typical of 18th-century production)

Some signs of age including a vertical fold crease and minor edge wear, as shown in photos. Some old tape residue at top from framing. No tears or repairs. Colors remain vivid and paper is stable. We had an antique dealer look at this piece and confirmed info above HOWEVER we have not had this authenticated ourselves. Everything points to this piece being authentic 18th century but cannot guarantee. PLEASE CAREFULLY VIEW ALL PHOTOS. This was found at a very small and old antique store in Europe.
