The auction is for  the  engine shown here. Works well.  This engine presents well and externally appears excellent.  However, there have been major modifications to the motor.  I will list them as far as I can see and do not imply that the list is exhaustive and complete.

1.  The original motor shield  has been replaced.  Accordingly,  the tab that switches current feed  from pantograph to slider is missing. 

2.  The oriiginal motor shield is mssing whichi leads to number 3

3.  The tab which would normally change the direction lights is missing

4.. The original reverse mechanism has been removed and replaced with a "modern" one.  PLEASE NOTE THAT THE STEEL TO WHICH THE ORIGINAL REVERSE WAS ATTACHED HAS BEEN SHORTENED, AND IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO REINSTALL AN ORIGINAL REVERSE.

5.  The 8 main drive wheels appear to be reproductions.  The wheels on the front and rear bogies appear original and do not show metal fatigue.

In essence, then is that you have a 3024 in a MS 800 suit.  It is a nice piece and would work well on your layout, but it is not a collector's piece.
