Wookiees are known as Shyriiwook in their own language "the People of the Trees". They are tall hairy humanoids that are native to the planet Kashyyyk. Chewbacca was the most known Wookiee who was best friends with Han Solo.
Wookiees played a vital role in Clone Wars during the battle of Kashyyyk, the Galactic Civil War by aiding the rebel alliance and the war against the First Order.
They are great warriors due to them being quite strong and were known to rip peoples arms out of their sockets when provoked. Kashyyyk was a temperate planet known for its swamps and forests but Wookiees are perfectly comfortable on icy worlds like Ilum and Hoth. They are able to adapt to the cold icy temperature with no additional protective clothing needed.
Wookiees had extendable claws which they used for climbing. They are intelligent, sophisticated, loyal and trusting by nature but when angered they were known to descend into a berserker rage.
