Vintage metal statue bookend of the last Aztec Emperor, Cuauhtemoc, who ruled what is now Mexico from 1520 to 1521.

This statue is a replica of the Monument to Cuauhtemoc that has stood prominently in Mexico City since 1887. It's cast in metal with a bronze finish and excellent sharp detail, from his huge plumed headdress to the intricate patterns on his royal robe. The spear in his hand is missing. The statue is mounted to a white onyx base and backplate, making this usable as a bookend. The bottom is covered in green felt.

It stands 8.5" tall on a 4" by 5.5" base, and weighs just over 5 lbs.

An excellent souvenir monument from Mexico.
