Dynatec has a high strength-to-weight ratio and is abrasion resistant, making it an ideal material for creating lightweight quickdraws, that can withstand repeated use. It also absorbs less water than nylon. An important consideration for winter climbing.
The retainer at one end helps maintain the correct orientation of an attached carabiner, such as when used for clipping the rope into the quickdraw as a runner.
