Expert's comment: Like most of the artists of the new school in Paris Magdalena Reinharez is from Eastern Europe, she arrives very young in France. Her training as a sculptor and then painter, she acquired him in different workshops including those of Fernand Léger and André Lothe. She then forges her gaze to composition, volumes and forms, which she will develop in her painting, drawing then sculpture work. Maria Reinharez's favorite subjects are landscapes and animals whose horse that she particularly likes. But what inspires the artist most in works is the movement that she restores in a remarkable way both in her paintings, in her ink drawings as in his sculptures. In painting, the movement is reinforced by the contrast between the liveliness of the brushstroke and the choice of a palette of pastel colors. His contemporaries consider it as an animal sculptor of great talent knowing how to restore both power or fragility in his subjects. His works on bullfighting shows us once again the quality of the artist who knows how to show the contained power of the animal and the elegance of the bullfighter in a dramatic ballet.
