OVERVIEW

The National Commando AT4S is an all terrain, all season tire manufactured for light trucks and SUVs. The manufacturer offers a 55,000 mile warranty for this model.

The tread features relatively small blocks that densely populate it with biting edges. With the optimal void ratio and tread depth, the tire absolutely excels in dry, wet, and winter weather conditions. Its ability to ensure a firm grip is further enhanced by its all season rubber blend that adapts to changing temperatures. It remains flexible whether it is used during hot summers or in cold winters. The model also utilizes a complex net of grooves that disperse water, snow, slush, mud, dirt, and rocks from the footprint.

The tire tread is designed with great attention to detail to maximize the tire's ability to maintain off-road traction. The high number of siped blocks establish a strong grip with the terrain surface no matter what type of terrain it is. The tough compound is resistant to external damage, to withstand challenging tracks during its off-road performance. This model absolutely excels in soft, loose, and uneven terrains, promoting a seamless driving experience. The tire takes care of stone retention by ejecting rocks from the footprint, preventing them from drilling into the footprint.

The model's on- and off-road maneuverability is guaranteed thanks to the flat footprint. While the tread consists of many elements, the void ratio is optimized so that the tire has a large contact patch. This way, it can maintain road contact at all times. This improves its stability and steering responsiveness, enabling the driver to have more control over the vehicle. The tire responds promptly and with greater accuracy to the driver's commands, while the tire's structure is secured against driving pressure affecting it. The shoulder blocks are extended to the upper sidewall, providing even more biting edges for precise cornering.

The shoulder ribs and the two center ribs formed by the tread blocks form a flat footprint. As a result, the tire evenly distributes load and driving pressure, promoting consistent road contact. The tread evenly circulates the forces of cornering, braking, and acceleration, keeping the tread wear slow and even. The wear-resistant compound further slows down tread wear. The combination of the tread pattern and the rubber blend keep the tread wear even and prevent irregular wear formations. These features significantly extend the Commando AT4S's service life.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
