Antique Hydrometer
A good example of a Victorian Loftus Hydrometer, used to measure and regulate the alcohol content in drinks. The set comes with its original brass float and all 9 graduated weights. It also comes with its original thermometer. The float is stamped "Loftus London" and each of the weights are also marked with their weight and 'Loftus'.
The thermometer is marked "J.Long. London" and there is an original paper label on the bottom of the box from Joseph Long with an adjustment date believed to be 5.11.1877.
