Dear Collector!
We would like to offer you an interesting edition for your collection:
Paper Money BOFONY & Financial Documents of the OUN (Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists) & UPA (Ukrainian Insurgent Army) in 1929-1954
This publication is devoted to the study of the history of the creation and functioning on the territory of Ukraine of Bofons (“combat fund”), monetary documents of the OUN underground & Ukrainian Insurgent Army in 1939-1954, known as “partisan money” mostly with OUN and Ukrainian national symbols.
The bofons were created to confirm the material and financial relations between Ukrainian insurgents and the population, and therefore are very important documents reflecting the economic basis of the underground. Thanks to national symbols, topical political appeals, and insurgent graphics (such famous graphic artists as Neil Hasiewicz, Robert Lisowski, the creator of the 1942 OUN emblem, and Sviatoslav Hordynskyi worked on the creation of bofones), they were an effective tool that regulated the relations between UPA soldiers and the population during the years of struggle against the Polish sanation regime, Hitler's Nazism, and Soviet Stalinism.
These underground bonds played a vital role in funding anti-Soviet and anti-Nazi resistance activities and maintaining the underground economy during decades of struggle.
The book provides:
-
Full-color illustrations of over 200 rare money documents
-
In-depth historical and typological commentary
-
Analysis of the OUN's internal financial administration
-
