Rare Vintage Texas Instruments TMS1100NLP
~ Worlds First Computer on a Chip ~
P-Channel MOS four-bit Microcomputer

Texas Instruments, the same company that co-invented the integrated circuit also developed
the world's first commercially available micro-computer, the TMS1100NLP.  This is a four-bit
microcomputer released for sale in 1975.

The base version of this chip, the TMS1000, along with this version, the TMS1100NLP, are
generally accepted as the first true single chip microcomputers.  The TMS1100NLP is an
expanded version of The TMS1000.  Both are identical, except this chip has twice the program
memory space.  The TMS1100NLP is more rare than the TMS1000.

The TMS1100NLP is supplied in a 28-Pin plastic dip package.  It was built with PMOS technology
with clock speed of 400 kHz.  These chips are becoming rare and collectible.  This plastic
package version with indent along the side (see photos) is one of the earliest versions of this IC.

Pre-programmed versions of this chip were used in the Speak & Spell educational toy, the
Big Trak programmable toy vehicle, and in the electronic game Simon.

Chip is in beautiful condition. Own a bit of rare computer history...while they last.
