An original, antique, copper-plate engraved print originally published in the Reverend Henry Southwell's 'The Universal Family Bible: or Christian's Divine Library. Containing the Sacred text of the Old and New Testament with the Apocrypha at Large ...', published by J. Cooke in London in 1774.

It is titled 'Balaam prophecying happiness to Israel'. The image is presented within a very decorative border. It was engraved by Roberts after a drawing by Gerard Hoet.

There is a visible platemark and the printed area (including the text above and below the image) measures approximately 185mm x 305mm with margins beyond, blank verso.

Condition report: Good condition. Age toning, handling / dust marks and age spots (mainly to the margins). Note the quite large age mark at the lower left decorative border. Please study all the photographs carefully to fully appreciate the condition.
